January 2026 Book Club Selection-Jim Collins and Bill Lazier, BE 2.0, Penguin,2020. Jim Collins has prepared tis update of the authors book BEYOND ENTREPRENUERSHIP. This book provides a more conceptual approach to the organizational leadership books by Collins in the past. He has added a number of short year 2000 updates to earlier text. The book addresses leadership style, vision, strategy, innovation, and tactical excellence.
Mid-January 2026 Book Club Selection- Jon Gordon, THE 7 COMMITMENTS OF A GREAT TEAM, Wiley, 2025. This book is an incredible tool filled with a set of tools for leaders to turn commitments into championships. Through telling an engaging story, real world lessons and actionable insights Gordon reveals and discussed the seven commitments of a great team.
February 2026 Book Club Selection-John C. Maxwell, 5 LEVELS OF LEADERSHIP, Center Street, 2011. This is one of Maxwell’s most important books. The book presents the Maxwell leadership model. Leaders should progress to each of the complex levels of leadership as they develop experience at each leadership level. The five levels are position, permission, production, people development and pinnacle. The book describes in detail what the leader needs to learn at each level.
Mid-February 2026 Book Club Selection- John C. Maxwell, DEVELOPING THE LEADERS AROUND YOU, Harper-Collins, 1995. This is the nineteenth book by Maxwell that I have selected for the book club. As leaders, we have the task of developing other leaders. We need a leadership climate, a method for identifying leaders and potential leaders, nurturing other leaders, coaching a dream team of leaders and so on.

Mid-March 2026 Book Club Selection-Thomas Young, FRANKLIN PIERCE: THE WORST AND MOST REPULSIVE PRESIDENT, ——–. President Pierce was president before Buchanan. Pierce was a northern pro-slavery president. His hateful decisions probably led to the Civil War.
April 2026 Book Club Selection- John C. Maxwell THE 360 DEGREE LEADER, Harper-Collins, 2011. Leaders exist often at all levels of an organization. People who desire to lead from the middle of an organization face unique challenges. These leaders must deal with the leaders at the top of the organization as well as leaders at their level. In addition, middle leaders need to address their teams as well. Leadership with others further down from their level is also a challenge. Thus, leaders throughout an organization can be complex. Maxwell discusses the 360(degree) leader and his(or her) challenges in detail.
Mid-April 2026 Book Club Selection-Jack Finnell, DO YOU WANT TO BE A LEADER OR A MANAGER, ———2018. The reality for most organizations is that leaders often are managers as well. This guidebook gives us a number of tools for determining how we become effective in both our management activities and our leadership activities.
May 2026 Book Club Selection- Mark Miller, CULTURE RULES, Matt Holt, 2023. All organizations have a culture. The author and his collaborators conducted a global study with more than 6,000 participants from 10 countries to study leaders and how they helped build the culture of their organizations. Leaders learn the rules that determine the health, vitality and sustainability of their culture. This enables the leaders to release tremendous reserves of untapped human potential and performance throughout their organizations. The three conditions that must be met to qualify as a high-performance culture are alignment, performance, and improvement
Mid-May 2026 Book Club Selection-Liz Wiseman, MULTIPLIERS, Harpers, 2017. This is an important book. The book discusses the difference between multiplier leaders and diminisher leaders. Multipliers are people who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of those around them. they inspire others to stretch themselves and deliver results that surpass expectations. Diminishers are idea killers.
June 2026 Classic Book Club Selection- Warren Bennis, ON BECOMING A LEADER, Basic Books, 2003. This is an excellent selection of essays from Bennis’ last book of leadership papers. The author was one of the best 20th century’s researchers and writers on leadership. He argues that leaders are not born but are made. Leadership needs to be examined within the context of modern social and historical events.
Mid-June 2026 Book Club Selection- Mark Miller, SMART LEADERSHIP, Matt Holt, 2022. In this book, Miller outlines four simple smart choices to scale a leader’s impact. The four smart choices are confronting reality, growing capacity, fueling curiosity, and creating change.
